Several years ago when Gertrude was stolen by a Houston college fraternity as a practical joke and held for ransom, her plight was sent out on the A.P. wires. She became an instant celebrity and was the topic of conversation in radio stations and "Where Is Gertrude" articles in major newspapers across the country. Sometime later, the happy piggy was returned to her distraught parents. She can be seen at Westheimer most holidays and during special promotions.
